How we handle your data when you use learnaos.com.
1. Who we are
LearnaOS ("we", "us") operates learnaos.com, a platform for reading GitHub-based courses. For privacy inquiries: hello@learnaos.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, and password (hashed) when you sign up
- Billing data: processed by Stripe — we receive subscription status, not full card numbers
- Usage data: pages visited, courses read, and technical logs (IP, browser, device)
- Communications: support emails and feedback you send us
3. How we use data
We use your data to:
- Provide and improve the course reader
- Process subscriptions and enforce access rules
- Send service-related emails (receipts, security, product updates)
- Analyze aggregate usage to improve the product
4. Legal basis (EEA/UK)
We process data based on contract performance (providing the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (security, analytics), and consent where required (e.g. marketing emails).
5. Sharing
We share data only with:
- Processors: hosting (e.g. Vercel), payments (Stripe), analytics, and email providers — under data-processing agreements
- Legal requirements: when required by law or to protect rights and safety
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Retention
We keep account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion for legal and backup purposes. Billing records are retained as required for tax and compliance.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights. EEA residents may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and preferences (e.g. theme). Analytics cookies may be used in production to understand site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, hashed passwords, and limited access to production systems. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
